Sandy Berry received Ed.S. and M.Ed. degrees from Mississippi College and a B.S. from Mississippi State University. She is currently teaching Dual Credit College Algebra at St. Aloysius High School. In addition to Mathematics and Psychology, Berry has studied Gifted Education and Advanced Placement for Calculus. She has helped with curriculum development for the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) and Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science. She has also participated in mathematical modeling with Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) engineers.
Berry is a member of the Mississippi Council of Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM), National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), and Mississippi Association for Developmental Education. She has been honored several times as a Student-Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) teacher at the Mississippi Economic Council's Education Celebration and was a finalist for the MDE's Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. She strongly believes in encouraging students to strive to reach for and exceed the high standards she holds for them.
